Well Former Miss World Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Sushmita Sen have not been signed as the brand ambassadors of Kaushalya Vardhan Talim Kendra (KVKs) but their posters in the classrooms have inspired many women to take up government certified short-term courses in the beauty treatment related areas.
Actually Government’s new initiative of Kaushalya Vardhan Talim Kendra (KVK) for providing skill development training, has received more than 47% participation of women as compared to hardly 10% participation of women in the courses run by Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs), thanks to both of these.
Moreover, this huge participation of women has prompted the government to double up the number of KVKs and increase the number of courses offered, in the next financial year.
Out of 49,807 participants in 150 KVKs across the state, 23,581 women have undergone training for various courses, mostly in the computer and beauty treatment related courses. The number of men participants in various courses is 26,226.
